    nice video guys

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and a great reminder of the importance of the decoys in both physical and psychological aspects. It is sad to see that many “trainers” have forgotten the defense drive (as has negative reinforcement been forgotten), and that those who have “found” defense drive overly advocate it without a emphasizing a balance of the dog. Thanks for the video guys!

Joshua Nugent You can check out the online training school at http://www.dogtraining.world if you are interested. Always looking to have good and new people to join the training community. The school covers an immense amount of great material. You will learn way beyond what the average dog trainer learns. If it’s something you’re interested in I recommend checking out the site. It’s a great community!

First video that I’ve seen that actually teaches and shows the process of this type of training. I hope that this will become a series of start to finish, very well Done work!

Zaky I have been told that the owner can’t be the agressor so my question is who can be the agitator . Friends and family can’t do it because it will attack them later outside of training and also friends and family are the only ones to put the time in. Who should I get to be the agressor and how much does it cost to get dog trained by pros to be a protective guardian type dog. My final question is if my American akita is suitable for a protective guard dog/ personal guardian job

    • Miranda Robicheau says:

      did you find any more?

  6. Pamela Thrasher says:

If I was the “victim” my Shep would have already tried attack, when the decoy was just approaching me like that, with a “stick” lol Just instinctively in him I guess.

  7. Kaytie Buckhalt says:

I loved how happy the dog was when she came back! He was like “Ohmygoshyourokay!” lol 😂❤

  8. Sal Ramos says:

when I was watching this my dog almost cracked my phone

  9. carol k says:

This seems just really odd to me. I have a personal protection dog, trained for me and her training was nothing like this. She had great temperament but her protection work was started early. The dog was brought to me at nine months and at nine months and two weeks I had an encounter with a stalker. She was ready to handle that situation even at that young age. I am not saying that it can’t be done this way. I just can’t imagine my shepherd having an ‘agitator’ standing over me, pretending to beat me while the dog stands down in the hall looking on.

    • OnPointFighting says:

The dog was not naturally protective. The lady could have died before the dog finally reacted. My Cane Corso, even at 4 months, would have been trying to tear that guy out the frame. The best family protection dogs are those that are naturally protective, then just add the bite work and different scenarios. Starting the training at 2 years old is something that a lot of trainers do with German Shepherds. Many will not even start obedience with a Shepherd until 1 years old. I think this is outrageous. One of my dogs passed the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) at 4 months. But to each his own.

This seems odd because this is terrible training. Pure garbage.

    • J Swift says:

I Be Stackin My P yes chances are your Akita could do this type of work…and may not even require high level training to protect you…things like area/perimeter guarding would be something an Akita needs to be trained heavily in, but there’s a good chance your Akita would react to a physical threat to you w/o any training…almost certainly w/ training. They are natural guard/protection dogs afterall

  10. Saurabh Mehta says:

really good video. But would have been better if you guys could give a small treat after the last few barks as a reward.

  11. dkoriss1 says:

ha, ha, ha this is soooo hilarious, for 5 minutes or so the dog, once upon a time use to be a real German Shepherd, watches his owner to literately gets attacked and mauled by a “bad” person and is so timid that needs encouragement just to bark, If Mr. Stefanitz was alive nowadays he would have committed suicide out of frustration, this is called instincts degeneration, then they try to recover the breed with the so called WORKING LINES !! just the confirmation that the breed itself is DESTROYED, cause use to be WORKING by its creator INSPIRATION, DEFINITION, SELECTION AND FINALLY CREATION !!! Just as a little tip of info HORAND (first recognized GSD and FIRST ANCESTOR AT THE BREEDS TREE, he would have attack the bad guy in the suspicion that he only approaches with some little, minimal, sense of bad intention its owner, the bad guy would not stand not even one chance in a billion, NOT TO BE ATTACKED before even rise his voice just a bit against the owner, he would have fight that bad guy to bitter end with no kind of training BY WHAT IS CALLED AND NOWADAYS LOST THANKS TO MERCHANTS ….INSTINCT !!! aaaah not to forget Horand’s reaction would have been something like this when he was about 3-4 old, later on it would have been completely …different. That waw the TRAIT that Horand widely passed to his early offspring, and them they passed it on to their offsping TILL THE MERCANTS DESTROYED ON PURPOSE THAT TRAIT, THAT INSTICT, …THAT BREED, AS PRICE PAID ON MONEY ALTAR !!! not only the GSD, same SAD PATH been followed by Mr. Louis Doberman dog, Rotweilers, Bulldogs, Bullmastiffs, English Mastiffs, Great Dane (German Mastiffs), Boxers just to mention few out dozens outstanding ONCE UPON A TIME working breeds use to include guarding in to theri traits, by nature not by training, training occasionally could be use just to refine their BRILLIANT STRONG MAJOR INSTINCT NOT TO CREATE OR AWAKE IT !!!! because you cannot create instincts TAKES ABOUT 400-500 years, not only to dogs, in the average animal, you can easy destroyed though, sometimes within four generations, …COUPLE YERS !!! what we see nowadays it nothing more than the LEFTOVERS out of these magnificent once upon a time breeds, sometimes they look amazingly like their ancestors CONCERNING the appearance THE PHENOTYPE STRICTLY AND …ONLY !!! like Dobermans or Rottweilers, some others the do even resemble a bit the appearance of theit REAL ancestors, like is the case for the poor GSD, even creating anatomical issues to the dog for the shake of fashion (smaller head, decline upper line instead straight, sloping its back down to the floor, having no space to pace its rears and tail !!!)

  12. Keara Loresch says:

I want to get my dog into something like this.

  13. pakistani prankster says:

that was so cool …. man i need such a dog !!!

  14. Bill Blinky says:

I’m far from an expert on this sort of thing. However it appears lesson the dog may have learned is that there’s no need to do anything as she was fine without his assistance.

I’d be looking for a dog that would anticipate a problem and be ready to step in before that fatal blow has landed. He looked like he was watching TV.

  15. G T says:

My German shepherd doesn’t let anyone near me at all he’s very protective! Some guys were catcalling me and following me during a walk they didn’t think my dog would try to attack if they got too close! Thankful for him. But sometimes can be overwhelming luckily he picks up on my emotions and knows when I feel really unsafe

    • razorseal says:

It’s a problem if the dog doesn’t let anyone near you. That is a scared dog in need of training.

  16. Alex Williams says:

what is the aggression command her screaming?

  17. mariano salcedo says:

The problem with the handler was that that should padded the dog a little harder not just pet him. petting is to calm the dog. The decoy should have attacked the female and then walked toward the handler and when the dog barks aggressively, the decoys runs away. do this a few time times until the dog responds to the word to watch and bark.  The dog will respond better and more aggressive.

    • OnPointFighting says:

I didn’t understand petting the dog before it alerted on the handler. Also, I thought tightening the leash would inhibit any forward moving tendencies from the dog.

  18. Kohane Samuel says:

is it possible to train a dog at home solo and what procedure should be taken to do so?

  19. Reewaz Acharya says:

    Why Am I watching this?
    I don’t even have a dog!

  20. Cameron Scott says:

hahaha Did he repeatedly yell “get outta here” and then say “you’re not going anywhere lady” ? hahaha
