Today I’m building a quick and easy DIY doghouse for our new puppy, Olive! It’s a pretty basic design, nothing super crazy or complex, but I think it came out well and looks great! There is a drawer for dog treats, toys, leashes or whatever else I decide to put in there. At the end I’ll tell you about the first upgrade it will be getting… a Doggie Water Tower! Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions☺

If you guys like the videos I make and would like to help support the channel at no additional cost to you. Please consider doing some of you Amazon shopping through this link. I may receive a small commission for any items you purchase. It’s greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Joe

    1. thanks VG! I’m cautiously optimistic she won’t eat it before she gets out of puppyhood 🙂

    2. We’ll, i don’t know much about dogs but! as long as you have done chew toys for her age should be fine. But if she does chew on it, look at it on the bright side =) “A new project =D” hehehe, wish you all the best Joe.

    1. thanks Rob! she is a great little helper… sometimes it makes things go slower but it’s fun 😀

  1. Another awesome build! I’m always so impressed with your creativity. Beautiful dog too! She must have a blast on your property! Keep it up!

  2. If You are in this kind of a thing, you could paint (white and red checkerboard) and weather the tank so it would look like an really old miniature water tower. BTW cool project!

    1. I do like that idea…. I just finished the water tower video but I may have to do a repaint job in the future 😀

  3. As always, you are awesome brother. Great, simple design executed well. Letting your daughter help is very cool too……reminds me of my everyday experience with my daughter wanting to help me with our projects. Keep it up!

  4. Nice construction and all. But I think it’s to small for when Olive becomes a full grown Australian Shepherd…could have been an extra foot longer.

    1. I may have to do a addition then 🙂 But hopefully not, I based the sizing off of here mom and dad… they are both smaller to med aussies.

  5. My Aussie is smart, Bad thing is, they know it, He is constantly trying to outsmart everyone in the household

  6. i think that the door shouldnt be at the middle. In cold weather , the dog will not have anywhere to hide from the air. So the door should be at the left or at the right .

    1. Simos Simos They said it’s just for when they leave her outside for the day and it’s Arizona. A breeze is a good thing there are cold isn’t usually an issue!

    1. thanks Jerome…. the flashing on the corners is just standard trim flashing that you’d use for roofing and weather applications. I think it’s 28 ga or something like that..
